Ask and you shall receive. To get everyone up to speed, Eric Bana is a stand up comedian who hosts this show ( fairly obvious ). This was only his sixth show and I doubt it’s breaking any rating records. At times it may not make sense but this is what was said :

Eric : Thank you, thanks for coming back. Here on the Eric Bana Show, I’m talking with well known face Belinda Carlisle. Belinda welcome. Now I must say you have the honor of being the first musical act on this floor here with the Eric Bana Show

Belinda : I feel honored

Eric : Oh well thank you, I feel honored. Now here we go, a woman and a man, the new CD and the new single and it’s all happening, but I am sitting here, I’m twenty eight years old and I’m seeing Belinda Carlisle from the GoGo’s, it’s all coming back.

Belinda : Yeah??

Eric : Yeah cause I’m from that age group you know, the blue light disco was full of the GoGo’s.

Belinda : I know, I know, well the GoGo’s were a great band, I’m very proud to have been part of that band.

Eric : And you girls were ....

Belinda : Wild!

Eric : Wild and it’s in the age were anything goes, in the eighties.

Belinda : Of course.

Eric : So did you make the most of that?

Belinda : Anything went.

Eric : Really?

Belinda : MMHM

Eric : Can you tell us more?

Belinda : Well I mean the reason, like people made such a big deal about it is because we were in our early twenties, we had tones of money, no responsibilities, traveling around the world and acting like guys, and there was nothing wrong with that!

( Big cheer from crowd )

Eric : No, there’s nothing wrong with that. So in hindsight what was your biggest indulgence, was it the sex, the drugs or the rock and roll.

Belinda : Umm, well believe it or not there wasn’t that much sex.

Eric : Really, well how do you ....

Belinda : We wanted groupies, but I think that umm, the idea was, really appealed to us but when it came down to it I think we all chickened out.

Eric : Got a bit frigid on the day?

Belinda : Yeah, yeah.

Eric : Was there much competition? Were there may all girl bands around then?

Belinda : No. I mean we were, the fore runners of you know, the bangles and allot of those.

Eric : So you would have had the pick of the crop, the whole male music industry was all yours for the taking?

Belinda : Well, sort of.

Eric : Now as I was saying before, the blue light disco’s, when I was a kid, which is the young disco’s you can get to when your twelve and not drink and all that stuff. I was a big fan of the GoGo’s, to the point were me and my mates actually did our own home video version of one of your songs, and mum with her video camera shot it.

( Shows a short film clip of Eric and two other guys dancing in a fountain singing Our Lips Are Sealed. Very pathetic and he even got the words wrong, " It’s a jealous game people play" ??? )

Belinda : Very good, really good.

Eric : Do you think there is any chance of us getting on MTV or ....

Belinda : Umm, I don’t know about that but it’s good.

Eric : But you went through a bit of a punk stage when you did all sorts of stuff to your hair, what was the wildest colour you had in your hair?

Belinda : Umm, I died my hair green for christmas once, I got home and my mother started crying " My daughter ".

Eric : Couldn’t tell you apart from the christmas tree?

Belinda : No, that was the point, but umm that was kinda with the wildest colour, that was like 1977 or so, so we were like way ahead of our time.

Eric : The worst thing I did to my hair, this was like early eighties, I permed my hair. Now as a fella you just don’t perm your hair and I copped it accordingly.

Belinda : Had a little fro going

Eric : Well it was very tight because my mum did it, she didn’t have curlers, she only had like safety pins, like this you know ( Eric gives Belinda a demonstration with a clip on the desk ) and when it came out it went, Brrrr ( gives a spinning motion with his fingers ). But then I could go on about that forever. Umm, did you meet your husband during this punk stage, where you .....

Belinda : No so umm, I meet my husband 1984, and umm, well actually while I had green hair, he was working as the youngest special assistant to the president of the United States in U.S history.

Eric : Who at that time would have been Ragan?

Belinda : At that time I would have had green hair, yeah.

Eric : Oh wow, and was that, how do you meet a presidential lad, meet a ...

Belinda : Well I mean, I met him after I had the green hair, but umm, we met, everybody kept trying to set us up and I was busy playing the field, so umm I thought why not and so we met at a party, and umm went out on a date a few nights later and I moved in the next day.

Eric : All right! That’s quick, that’s quick. I like that, I think we need more of that sort of thinking, I really do.

Belinda : Well we have been together 12 years so, it’s almost 13, so it worked.

Eric : Did you ever get to go to the White House with green hair?

Belinda : I never got to go too umm, the white house but I did meet Nancy and Ron.

Eric : Do you think Ron would remember?

Belinda : Probably not at this ohhhh, probably not at this point.

Eric : Now your not out here only to promote the CD

Belinda : Yeah

Eric : Your here to assist with the launch of the old super league.

Belinda : Right, right.

Plays A short clip showing Belinda in the middle of a football ground on stage singing " We are the champions ". There are about a dozen footballers standing in a line behind her. The little bit of the song I can hear sounds like Belinda is doing a great job.

Eric : And umm, we’ve got some footage of you doing a bit of stuff with the super league guys, gee they’ve got allot of bouncers on stage haven’t they. I mean there waiting for a... your singing a Queen song there Belinda, has the taste changed much over the years?

Belinda : Ah well they asked me to sing the song and I was sort of hesitant because it’s a very hard song to sing, and umm, but I, you know, pulled it off I think.

Eric : Those guys weren’t too good at moving were they? Would you please stick around because I want to introduce you to some Australian, a bit of an Australian musical comedy act.

Belinda : Ok

Eric : Belinda’s going to stick around, lets hear it for Belinda Carlisle fokes.

The only other interesting point’s were it looked like Belinda was wearing the same outfit at the super league match as she was on the show ( whoops ), and during the interview Eric kept leering over the desk, and by the end poor Belinda was sitting on the far side if her chair leaning right over trying to get some space.
