- The Go-Go's have completed recording their first album in more than 15
years and
have begun mixing in Los Angeles. The yet-to-be-titled project is due in
May from Beyond Music.
The album is being produced by renowned alt-rock producers Paul Kolderie
and Sean Slade, whose
co-resume includes work on Hole's Live Through This, the Mighty Mighty
Bosstones' Let's Face It, and
Radiohead's The Bends and Pablo Honey.
Meanwhile, Go-Go's frontwoman Belinda Carlisle has reportedly been busy
on another front -- showing off
her 42-year-old self for a photographer of Playboy magazine, according
to a report in New Yorker
magazine. The New Yorker cites an industry source in reporting that the
lead vocalist did a photo shoot
for the men's magazine in late November. A spokesperson for Carlisle would
not confirm the story, but
did tell the New Yorker that Playboy had been "after her for years."
And in other Go-Go's news, Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey are a hit
on the country charts thanks
to "But For The Grace Of God," a song the duo co-wrote with country artist
Keith Urban. The track,
from Urban's self-titled 1999 debut, clocks in at Number 26 on the current
Billboard Hot Country
Singles & Tracks chart. And crossover success might not be far behind.
The tune debuted this week at
Number 14 on the publication's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.
